A partner in protection since 2008
Westlake Insurance Agency is a Kenyan insurance intermediary. We do not underwrite risk — we read it, place it with a licensed underwriter, and stay close to it for as long as the policy runs.
Who we are
Most people meet an insurance company once, at the point of sale, and again at the point of loss. In between, nobody explains what the policy actually says. That gap is the reason an intermediary exists.
Westlake was built around four commitments, in this order: understand the exposure first, recommend responsibly, communicate clearly, and stay engaged after the policy is issued. Everything else — the product list, the two offices, the phone numbers — follows from those.
We work with businesses and institutions, transport and fleet operators, contractors and developers, and individuals and families. The cover differs. The method does not.
We are an agency, not an insurer. That distinction matters at the point of claim: the underwriter decides, and we make sure the claim reaches the right desk properly documented and does not stall there.

How we work
-
Understand the exposure
What you own, what you owe, who depends on the business, and what would stop it trading. A single motor policy sits inside a much wider risk profile, and pricing it in isolation is how gaps appear.
-
Recommend responsibly
A recommendation you can audit: the sum insured and where it came from, the excess, the material exclusions, and the premium broken down. If two options exist, you get both.
-
Communicate clearly
Plain English, on paper. No cover is sold on a brochure line. If a policy will not do what you need, we say so before you pay for it.
-
Stay engaged
Renewals reviewed rather than rolled over. Endorsements when the business changes. A named person to call when something goes wrong.
Who you will actually deal with
A named adviser, with a role and a direct line, is worth more than a switchboard. These are the people in the Eldoret office. Ask for the one who handles your class of business and you will be put through.
Two offices
Both are real offices, not a postal address. Call ahead if you want to be sure someone is in.

Questions we are asked
Is Westlake an insurer?
No. Westlake is an insurance agency. We arrange cover with licensed underwriters. The policy is issued by the underwriter, and the underwriter is the party that pays a claim.
Which underwriters do you work with?
We place cover with licensed Kenyan underwriters. The specific panel depends on the line of business. Tell us what you need and we will tell you which underwriters we can approach for it.
Do you charge for advice?
Commission is paid by the underwriter on most policies, so you are not invoiced separately for arranging cover. Where a piece of work falls outside that, we will say so before we start.
Can you handle a policy I already hold elsewhere?
Yes. We can review an existing policy, explain what it does and does not cover, and quote an alternative at renewal. You do not have to cancel anything to ask.
Ask us anything before you buy.
A question about cover, an exclusion, or a claim that has gone quiet — the same people answer all of it.
